We are still alive over here!

WARNING!!!! LONG POST! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!

So, I know what you all are thinking. (All 3 of you that read my blog) Where are the Binghams? No, I did not stroke out during my race, and no, I have not gone into hiding. We have been extremely busy around here.

Here is a recap of what has been going on since my last post.

First, the race.
I actually did it, I not only finished the race, but I did it in 29 minutes! And look, I even had a cheering section! Not to brag, but I was extremely proud of myself for doing this. I think my husband was pretty proud too!

I am still running, and I would like to eventually try a 10k. We'll see.

Next, Drewby.

For those of you who don't know, Drew has gotten a new job with a company called Avanade. This company has got him traveling 80% of the time. Yes, I said 80%! Now you know where I have been. It has definitely been a challenge, but now that we have a routine down, it has gotten better. I am anxious to see how the summer goes. I don't know if slowing down and ditching all of the activities will be good, or if the kids will absolutely drive me nuts.

Finally, the chirren!
My, oh my, how they are growing! It's easy to miss what with ballet, soccer, gymnastics, science club, and swimming lessons. Most of the time I am in my car shuttling my children every where and poor Jeffery is living a spectator life.

Here are some pics from Mary Grace's Recital

I know they are old, but here are some shots from Easter! This is my, sit there and don't move until it's time to leave for church, shot.

Hopefully I will have some shots of Jeffery's 2nd birthday up soon! I can't believe my baby will be 2 next week! Til' then!

Personal Goal

I know that I am usually braggin' on the chirren on this site, but I am going to take a minute to give myself some props today.

I have officially signed up for my first 5K! Woo hoo! This is pretty big news because I was one of those kids in elementary school that came in last when we had to do the presidential mile in P.E. Ya'll remember that? Not because I was particularly slow. I was just more interested in chatting with my friends and walking in a circle rather than busting a sweat.

I guess I should start at the beginning. I didn't really start out with this goal, it just kind of happened. I joined a gym back at the end of August. Easy enough. A couple of classes, no big deal. I soon set my eyes on a class that I wanted to try called Tread Ahead. It's kind of like a spin class, but with a treadmill. I was never really a runner, so this intimidated me. I started slow and worked myself up to running 3 miles in 45 minutes, and then 35 minutes. Now, I thought I was ready to try the class. To my surprise, I did it! It soon became a favorite class.
This is all well and good, but this is a treadmill and not outside in the elements. I needed to try and run the 3 miles outside.

This past week, when it was pretty outside, I (along with the rest of Atlanta) went down to the river to run. I was extremely slow, but I ran the 3 miles in 35 minutes!!!!! I was very proud of myself, and my husband who actually ran track his freshman year at the University of Georgia was also impressed.

So I did it! I signed up for a 5k in April, and my goal is to work towards that. I got my sister-in-law to sign up too, so that way I can't back out. I am also hoping that my other good friend Elizabeth will sign up too. I will keep you posted on any progress. Right now, I have to get over the flu bug:(

Still snowed..er..iced in!

We are still snowed in. This makes day 4. The snow has turned to ice, which makes our roads absolutely terrible. I have managed to get my kids dressed and pretty well bathed all week, but I think today is going to have to be pajama day. Here are some pictures of our pretty snow. At least here in the south it stays pretty and does not turn into "frozen gravy" as Kelly Rippa states it up in New York.

It took us about thirty minutes to get everybody dressed. It felt like that scene in A Christmas Story where the mom was getting Randy dressed. Jeffery could barely walk with the weight of his layers.

Jeffery's gloves fell off his wittle hands almost immediately. Once he fell hands first in the snow, he was done!

Headed back to the house. Maybe next time.

The snow went all the way to the top of MG's boots.

I call this shot, Redneck Winter. Here is Wylie sledding down the hill on a cardboard box. We like to keep it classy here.

Laundry round 1. The kids went through three layers three times that day. You can do the math. I was a busy mom trying to keep up. Who wants hot cocoa?

More Christmas

We are snowed in! Sunday night we got about four inches of snow in about two hours. This is enough in my part of the world to shut everything down. This of course if fine with me because, A, Hubby is home, and B, snuggling with my kids and playing in the snow is my idea of winter time fun!

I thought since I was snowed in I would catch up with my blogging. Here are some more Christmas pictures that I promised.

I got Drew Rock Band 3 for Christmas. It is so much fun, I ain't gonna' lie!

We left for Papa and Nan's at 10:00 for more Christmas.

As soon as we got back it started to rain. Then the rain turned to snow and we had a white Christmas! It was the perfect day!
I hope you all had a very merry Christmas!

Happy New Year!

Happy New year to the three people that read my blog! Ha Ha.

I am sorry that I have not posted Christmas pictures yet, but I have been working around the house getting organized and doing some new projects. I will post those later, but let me catch up with Christmas first.

We had a whirlwind of a Christmas this year. I really felt like it flew by, and from what I hear, it happened that way for a lot of folks. Here is a recap for you.

Christmas Eve at Pop and Nonna's

MG finally got a pillow pet! I think every little girl got this for Christmas.

Wylie is behind that box of Legos. He had a very LEGO Christmas.

Poor Jeffery only got to open one present before he crashed and burned.

Uh oh, somebody's got a frowny face.

My nanna and her fabulous faux zebra snuggie. It's a faznuggie!

Wylie's Christmas loot.

MG and Jeffery's loot.

Mary Grace also got a doll house from Santa.

This doll house was actually mine as a little girl, but it never got finished. Drew came and got the unfinished doll house out of Mom and Dad's attic without me knowing and began to work on it. This huge thing was in my basement for about a month and I had no idea. Drew just about killed himself trying to get a bunch done on it before Christmas. It was a total surprise for Mary Grace and myself. Especially since the kids got us up at 4:30!!!!!!!!! Not kidding.

The inside. Lot's to do still, but that is the fun part.

This post is getting really long, and I have a toddler to chase. I will post Christmas day photos in the next day or so.

Elf Antics

Besides bringing germs from the North Pole each night, our elf, Fleeble Flabble, has been up to his usual antics.

He's Seven!!!

Yes...you read correctly. My sweet Auburn headed baby is now officially seven years old! Omigosh, where did the time go?

I love these early morning shots, before comb meets hair!

This year, we did the easiest party ever! We had it come to our house!
Behold the Game Truck! (Imagine angel voices singing)

This puppy pulled up to our house and wa-lah, instant party.

There were four t.v.s and just about any game you could want to play. And look, we even had girls at the party.

The adults were so jealous. I wish we could have afforded another hour, just for us to play guitar hero.
Wylie chose a Star Wars theme for his birthday, so I got a cake from Publix. I really would have rather gotten cookies from Hollie, but planning a birthday party right smack dab in the middle of Christmas hub bub is hard to do.

Happy Birthday my sweet boy!
