Lil' Punkins

We all went to the Pumpkin patch this past weekend, along with the rest of Georgia. Seriously it was very crowded. I guess because the weather was beautiful, and it was Sunday. Anyway, here are the pictures that was able to get. You'll love this one.

I did better getting individual shots.

Everybody on the tractor!

We got some nice pumpkins, and had a great day.

Pumpkins and Spice and Everything Nice!

I think I have said that I love fall, if I haven't, I LOVE FALL!

I love cooking with pureed pumpkin. When October hits I try to use a lot of it in my cooking. Yesterday the kids and I made pumpkin chocolate chunk cookies, and Oh My! They are delicious. I found the recipe on Bakerella's blog. If you have not found Bakerella you must go post haste! Just look at these beauties!

They are so light and fluffy, and y'all there is a frosting recipe that goes with these! I did not frost them for obvious reasons, my butt!

Go ahead, take a closer look!

Awwww, yeah! They were a huge hit, and even though the chocolate probably outweighed the nutrition of the pumpkin...oh, who cares!

I love the look on J's face. It looks like he got caught with his whole face in the cookie jar!

I promise that the cookies were not my kid's dinner. Even though I made them at 4:30 yesterday. Nope, this was dinner.

Isn't he cute! This is jack-o-lantern cheeseburger pie. I got the recipe from Southern Living a while back and it is a Halloween must at my house.

To top the week off, we are having pumpkin waffles on Saturday morning. I usually make the yummiest pumpkin pancakes, but Wylie had an assignment on his calendar asking him to look up pumpkin recipes. This particular recipe is one he wanted to try. We will see how it goes.

It's not Fall until....

Although it's October, and September has already passed us by, it hasn't really felt like Autumn. Mostly because it has still been so HOT! But, today is a different story! It is absolutely gorgeous and it is one of the many reasons I love living in the south. It is really nice outside, AND we have another cold front coming! Yippee!

Anyway, I decided to take the opportunity to blog about some of my favorite fall things. I will start with numero uno!
Mmmm hmmmm. It is not really officially fall until you have had one of these, and don't even get me started on the muffin!

Next, I definitely bleed red and black. Nothing gets your adrenaline pumping like walking up to Sanford stadium listening to the choruses of The Redcoat Band and the impending onslaught of a good ole' southern rivalry! We have not had the best season so far, but I will always be a dawg fan! Sic em' boys!

Now that the main fall things are out of the way, I can tell you about the little things that make this time of year so special for my family and I.

Halloween is big at our house. I dare say it is my oldest son's favorite holiday. He seriously talks about it all year! Like my banner? Check out emmie cakes. She has all kinds of fun banners.

Oh! I need to go straighten the lamp shade!

This is my entryway. I like to change it up depending on the season.

Here is my new favorite item. I have been drooling over these for well over a year, and if you see me this winter, this is what I will be wearing!

What is your favorite fall thing?

Seriously behind in my blogging.

Miss me? Ha ha! I know it's been about two months since I last blogged, but we have had a lot going on. Yeah, Yeah you say, but really I plan on trying to be a little better. We have had a lot of newness lately. New job, new babies...not mine, thank the lord! I promise to catch you all up on the details in coming posts.
I decided to try and catch up by starting where I left off. The school year. Here are pictures of Mary Grace's first day of preschool. This is a big year for Mary Grace because it is the last year that she will be in preschool. No, I am not kidding! I do not joke about my little ones growing up way too fast!

See ya' soon...I hope!

My Baby All Grows Up!

Today was Wylie's first day of First Grade! It really crept up on us! Mainly because it is just too darn hot to be back at school, not to mention the NON-air conditioned school buses!
Here are some shots of my sweetness.

Poor Wylie is the only kid at our bus stop.

I can't believe my husband got this shot. Wylie is looking at the heart that I drew in his hand. I put a heart in the palm of his hand last year and told him that when he got scared he could look at and know I was with him. He asked me draw another one this year. The fact that he even remembered it blew me away. These are the moments that I treasure as a mom.

Do you think that bus driver is happy or scared to see Wylie?

There they go! Off to another year.
I'm not gonna cry...I'm not gonna cry...

Party part 2

Please excuse my tardiness in the blog matter. We were without cable and (gasp) internet for like a year...o.k it was a week, but seriously in dog years that is an eternity! I even missed the Bachelorette finale so don't even get me started on that!
Here are other pictures of Mary Grace's 4th birthday party!

As you can tell, everyone had a great time!

This is Mary Grace's self proclaimed boyfriend, James.

That is the sound of my heart stopping! "Not so high dear"

Mary Grace got to leave her hand print on the wall of the place she had her party! I thought that was kind of cool!

Mary Grace's 4th birthday!

Yes! you read right! My baby girl just turned 4! In one way I am happy because I remember Wylie turning 4 and everything changed. His behavior basically changed overnight... No joke.

I am seriously hoping this is the case for Mary Grace. Her little sweet self has been very challenging lately (not looking forward to puberty and girl moodiness!) Good thing she's got those golden ringlets and that smile to back up those tantrums.

So, since we just spent a week at the beach, Mary Grace basically spent her birthday in the car. It did not help that we got stuck on Atlanta's hateful 75 North, or the fact that I may have told her she had presents awaiting her at home. You all can draw a mental image of that! I don't think I will plan a major trip around birthdays again. Lesson Learned.

Anywho, we planned a really cute birthday party with an Alice in Wonderland theme the next day, and though I am dumb enough to tell my daughter that she has to wait through an entire car ride to open presents, I am smart enough to plan the party elsewhere. Therefore letting someone else do the set up and clean up. M'kay?

I have decided that since it took two memory cards for all of the vacation pictures and MG's birthday party, I will probably do multiple postings for her birthday...well that and I am lazy.

Here is MG's invitation. Probably my favorite part.

I found it on Etsy, and it is by the cutest company Anders Ruff. They have the cutest blog, and I wish I could say that Mary Grace's party was as cute as the Alice in Wonderland party they have photos of, but like I said, I am lazy. Please go check it out.

We got Mary Grace an Alice in Wonderland costume for her birthday, and she got wear it to the party. My favorite part.

Mary Grace and her cake. My favorite part.

The place we had her party is really neat, it has a giant foam pit, trampoline, ball pit for little baby Jefferies, and at one point they blow up a bounce house. My favorite part!

These suckers went in the goody bags, along with a tiny pack of playing cards. I downloaded them from Anders Ruff and then put them together. I have more pictures, but they are on the other memory card, so stay tuned!
