"Tesaurus Rex"

Wylie walked into my sewing room this afternoon with his hands shoved into his pants and proclaimed that he was a "tesaurus rex." Couldn't make it up if I wanted to, and here is the video proof.

I'll say it again folks. I love being a mom!

Mary Grace's First Haircut!

This past Saturday Drew and I took Mary Grace and Wylie to Pigtails and Crewcuts, which is just a little salon for kids. This was Mary Grace's first time getting her haircut!

This is the before picture.

Here goes!

It was hard watching those little baby curls being cut for the first time. I only got teary eyed once, which was good for me!

Drew is such a great photographer! He always gets the shots I never think to get. here is the aftermath. Not much there, but it was enough!

This is the only "after" picture that we took. Sorry so close up! Anyway, now Mary Grace has cute little layers in the back, so that her hair curls up better. It is so much easier to comb now that the dried up ends are gone. We got a cute little keepsake card that has her curls in a little baggie with the date and a spot for the picture.

I don't think I will ever get tired of these "firsts". First games, first haircuts, first days of school. They are so much fun, and I will never get tired of them. I love having kids!!!!

First Soccer Game

This past Saturday was Wylie's first soccer game and it was truly entertaining. Watching a bunch of four year olds out on a soccer field trying to play an organized sport is definitely a good way to spend a Saturday morning.

This is Wylie warming up before the game. He had a hard time getting the ball into the goal. We knew right away that this was gonna be good!

Here is the team doing an opening prayer. I could just hear the coach saying "Dear Lord please let us get through this without any major injuries , or undue name calling by either the boys or the coaches. Amen."

Here is the opening kick off. The coaches obviously had a lot of faith in Wylie because they placed him right in front of the ball. Little did they know....

"Hey buddy, the goal is back over there!" Wylie would get out in front of the kids with the ball, but he could never quite get it where it was supposed to go! He preferred mowing everybody over including the coach.

This is a pretty cool picture though. Look at that stride.

"Now see guys OUR goal is over there."

BODYCHECK! Yeah, this kid didn't stand a chance. By the end of the game Wylie really just started tackling the other kids and playing chase.

Great game guys!

SCHOOL DAZE!!!

This week was Wylie and Mary Grace's first days of school. Hurrah!!!!!!!! Wylie started on Monday and Mary Grace started on Tuesday. This is one of the hallways in the preschool. The whole preschool has a beautiful mural painted up and down the hallways of different animals. It's a God's Zoo theme. Pretty appropriate I think.

It stopped raining for about five minutes this week. Long enough for me to get this picture of Wylie before school on Monday. Then the rain never stopped!

After hiding in the basement for about fifteen minutes Tuesday morning in fear of tornadoes, I was able to make a mad dash to the car in order to get the kids to school. This is Mary Grace holding her school bag. She is so proud to be at school with her brother.

While Mary Grace's classmates clung desperately to their mother's crying and screaming, Mary Grace walked calmly into the classroom straight to the babies. You can tell by the look on her face that she is annoyed by all of the noise in the room. Upon picking her up in the afternoon, her teacher's told me that she is a very social little girl. Oh boy!

This is going to be a fun year!

Soccer Season!

Yes, it's that time. I know you all are anxiously awaiting to hear about soccer season, especially after the soccer camp disaster. I do have joyous news in that aspect. Wylie is excited about soccer! YAY!

He went to his first soccer practice on Saturday with his daddy where they received uniforms. They are the Yellow Tigers!

Wylie got to be number 1! I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he is the first alphabetically.

Here is Wylie's little team. They are all boys.

GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL!

Wylie in the goalie box. He did a good job, but he kept coming out into the action of the game.

It's hard to tell in this picture, but Wylie is blocking a goal!

Here is proof!

Wylie is very excited about his next practice and his first game! We will keep you posted!

First ponytail!

I was having a hard time combing Mary Grace's curly locks the other morning, so I pulled all of her hair back to try and comb it without hurting her, when I discovered that her hair was now long enough for a ponytail. This was the end result. She really liked it, but when Drew came home and saw how "growny" it made her look, he made me promise that I would not do it again. I agree that it makes her look like a 6 year old.

Girl's Weekend!

I've just returned from a very eventful weekend at the beach with some of the greatest women I know. Julie, Elizabeth and I left Thursday evening and drove down to Panama City Beach, where we met up with Hollie, my BFF from Birmingham, and her friends Kelly and Wendy. Here are some highlight pics from the trip.

Elizabeth, Wendy, Hollie, Julie, Kelly(of Kelly and Alfred) and me. On the Beach Friday.

Hollie and I cooling off below the sign that clearly reads "stay clear of waterfall" We are rebels!

This is Fancy. She's got back-back!

The girls at Red Bar. Our waiter, Vladimir from the Dominican Republic, did not make it into the picture.

Hollie and I Saturday night before heading out to dinner where we would meet Mikey the perverted waiter, and Allan at Tootsies. I will post more pictures as they get e-mailed to me.

Here are the many things I learned from this trip:

1. Third row seats are not just for children, but also for people who act like them.

2. The correct way to use chop sticks.

3. If you want excellent service at a restaurant, you really need to have Wendy with you.

4. Always bring your camera into the bar with you because your camera phone does not have enough memory for the pictures you want to take.

5. Doctors cannot prescribe medicines across state lines!

6. Spending a weekend with friends that truly care about you is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Thanks to the girls for giving me the most memorable weekend. I cannot wait for our next quarterly meeting. Let's hope we don't come away with so many medical incidents.

Love always,

Blaire
